Hey guys. Just two weeks before the major mid-year exams. I just hope that I will be all prepared for the exams! Anyway, I am really looking forward to the ultimate finale, the race between CHASE and ELMER! These two hamsters are the cream of 4H and 4I's crop, the best of all. I fervently hope that Chase would outrun, outwit and outlast (SURVIVOR) Elmer and bring glory to 4H.
Rossi is back home with Vitoria now. After spending just three short days with him, I cannot believe I miss him THIS MUCH! Sigh... I do remember playing with him, training him in his little orange hamster ball...feeding him apple cubes and watching him nibbling them with relish......Sheesh!
Oh yeah! I am quite stressed from all the revisions and studying I have to do. The mole hill of homework on my study desk has tripled since last week and it is giving me endless headaches. Looks like I have to burn more midnight oil...... Oh well, I CAN DO IT!!!
GO FOR IT GUYS!!!!!!
Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.........Leon J. Suenes

Find closure.
Hey everybody! After such a hectic day, I bet everyone is all exhausted and needing of a well=deserved break. As all of you know, the race did not go so well today. Rossi came in last for every race, and I could easily see the team's spirit dampen more and more with every defeat. However, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my group members. Despite encountering many obstacles, we stuck through thick-and-thin, encouraging each other with heartening phrases and pats on the back (not literally)!
THANK YOU ALL!!!YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!
Anyway, just as Bernadette did, I would very much like to thank you all one by one. It is easier this way.
Ally: Thanks Ally for setting up the blogs for us! It was a really great help, I really appreciate it. I myself am 'impossible' with computer stuff, so with you around to settle the technical part of the project was really heartening. Also, I appreciate the fact that you and Vitoria went to buy/get cardboard just before the start of the race to make up for the missing length while I just freaked out and STONED.
Vitoria: Thanks Vitoria for not losing your temper during the H1 hamster race when I know you would normally scream your head off. I apologise about what happened to the hamster cage,I do not know what happened that caused it. Throughout the whole event, you remained remarkably calm and composed, comforting others when you have to. I also appreciate the fact that you took the trouble to buy/get cardboard to make up for the missing length of the circuit. I sincerely believe that you trained the hamster well and that Rossi running slowly through the circuit was due to his age and the surrounding distractions.
I LOVE YOUR HAMSTER!!!
Shan Qi: Hey designer. I really loved the cloak you came up with for Rossi to wear during the race. It really made Rossi look so professional and cool! Also, you made the poster to cheer Rossi on. Thanks!
Vanessa: Hey fellow circuit-maker. I would like to apologise for my behaviour at the day of the race. When I realised the hamster race circuit was too short, I freaked out and kind of kept pestering you about it. Haha, I think I irritated everyone with my " What to do now?!?!" SORRY! I know that you really tried your best and the circuit length was probably a miscalculation! Thanks for the help you gave to me for the making of the circuit!
Kar Mun: Hello smartie-pants! I bet you put a lot of effort in making the hamster poster! It is really nice, I love your blending of colours. One look at it and I know how much work you put in it! Also, you were so calm and confident throughout the whole race, while I was freaking out and irritation everyone...sorry about that...
bernadette: Hello. Sorry if I am copying your style. Anyway, thanks for being so positive throughout the whole hamster race, even though it was quite saddening. ALso, it was nice of you to colour the hamster print-outs for Vitoria and me. THANKS!!!
SO, THANKS EVERYONE!

Countdown 3, 2,1....!!!
Hey guys! I was recently informed that Olson won for the swim meet!!! I am so pleased , because Olson never won the swim meet before, at least not during the years i attended the school. I just cannot believe it!
Anyway, I have gotten so used to taking care of Rossi that I don't want to return him to Vitoria tomorrow. Rossi has a lovely character, very sweet and cuddly, he is just my ideal hamster. I will miss Rossi so much. During the days when Rossi was staying over, my house seemed all livened up and brightened up by his spirit; everybody laughed and at Rossi's antics and were very tickled by his always-curious behaviour.
I WILL REALLY MISS THE LITTLE FELLOW!!!
Not forgetting, there is only approximately 12 hours before the long-awaited H1 hamster race!!! I am really looking forward to going to school again, after two days of being sick and locked at home. I am really starting to miss everyone in school. Also, I cannot wait to see how Rossi is going to blow everyone away with his TORQUE tomorrow. The circuit is all prepared and ready, all we need is for Rossi to be in tip-top condition for the run of his life. I KNOW ROSSI CAN DO IT!!!
GO ROSSI!!! GO GO GO!!!!!!

Confession.

I am finished with the circuit!!!( Applause from the background.) It took me four whole hours, but I am finally done with it! Due to my illness, I did not go for the swim meet. Quite disappointed, since I have been looking forward to watching the MG swimmers and the races. I woke up at 9.45 in the morning, put Rossi into his training ball and started on the circuit at about 11.00 a.m. The construction of the circuit took longer than I had expected, which caused me a lot of grief. I had a whole timetable set for today, but due to the circuit-building, I had to push all my revision and study backwards. I only finished the circuit at 4.00 p.m...SIGH!
However, I am very satisfied with my work. All the sweat and hard work paid off. The circuit is looking pretty ok! I also pasted many encouraging quotes and phrases on the circuit walls to help Rossi along the length of the circuit. After all, the circuit can be tedious and lengthy for a teeny-weeny hamster, right? I must say, I am pretty proud of myself. Despite not having much help from the other group members, I managed to build the circuit pretty. well. The only slight problem is that the circuit walls are still quite plain. However, Vanessa and Vitoria are bringing more pictures of hamsters to livewn up the circuit walls.YAY!!!

Hamster update
Hi guys! I did not go to school today because of my terrible flu and cough, so I got to wake up much later, at 9.15 a.m. Haha. But then again, I felt like a living corpse the whole day, with a tap for a nose and a creaky gate for a throat, that is. Anyway, despite all these distractions, i wasted no time in preparing for the hamster race.
In the morning, I put Rossi in the training ball and let it run about at the balcony for 40 minutes. I am pleased to say that the hamster was really energetic and active, it seemed to be in tip-top condition. YAY!!! Later, I returned Rossi into its cage for a good rest before taking it out at 3.00 for another run in the balcony. I bet Rossi enjoyed the fresh air and the chance to stretch its little legs. At night, I fed Rossi with a small piece of apple. When I first placed the apple in front of his little house, he clambered out of his hiding place and sniffedat the apple cube. AFter making sure that it is not one of my little traps, Rossi went right down to munching the apple. Haha, HE WAS ADORABLE!!!!!! Vitoria, I wish I can keep this sweet hamster.
TO ALL THE OTHER HAMSTERS: WATCH OUT FOR ROSSI!!!!!!
Anyway, I did not do much for the circuit today because of my flu. Sigh... but I will finish it tomorrow. I hope no problems crop up in the construction of the hamster circuit, or I will freak out and DIE. Haha. I am sure everything will proceed smoothly.
IT BETTER PROCEED SMOOTHLY...
To all my group members: Wish all of you the best of luck in completing your part of the project too. Together,WE CAN DO IT!!!!!! YEAH!

Bringing Rossi home.

Hello guys! I am down with the flu and cough, but I will continue to put in effort on the hamster race circuit. My nose and throat are SO irritating...sigh.
Anyway, I brought Rossi home with me today. I could see that Vitoria was very worried and concerned for her hamster, she kept reminding me to feed it and make it as comfortable as possible. Well, Vitoria, if you are reading this, you will be pleased to find out that Rossi is napping peacefully in his cage, without a care in the world. Rossi is a really charming hamster; its fur is pure white and it has the most adorable face. When I tried to carry it, it nibbled my fingers and jumped back into the cage. The hamster's nibbling was not painful , rather, it was tickly and amusing... I am really starting to LOVE this little character!
Anyway, due to my earlier visit to the doctor and my chinese tuition from 7.00 to 9.00 p.m, I have not had the time to do anything for the hamster circuit today.Hmpphhh... nevermind, I will be doing it now.
In school today, Vanessa and I finalised the length of the circuit! It is 5 metres approximately. With the measurements all done, the construction of the hamster circuit would be in FULL FORCE. This is my checklist for the construction of the circuit:
1. Cut the black cardboard and white cardboard into card-size pieces of length 20 cm and width 10 cm each. Make sure that thare is about 50 card-size peices.
2. Line the pieces of balck and white cards in two parallel rows, with 25 cards on each row and about 6 cm between the two rows.
3. Use scotch-tape or staples to hold the rows of card-size pieces together. The hamster circuit is thus formed.
4. Use the chicken wire to steady the walls of the hamster circuit.
5. The walls of the circuit will be decorated by pictures of Rossi and encouraging words to boost Rossi's confidence.
Well, I guess this is about it. After completing all the tasks on the checklistr above, I would hold a practice race for Rossi. This is to help Rossi get used to the circuit he will be running in on the day of the big race as well as make sure that nothing unexpected crops up on the big day. I am very confident that Rossi would do all of his team members proud!!!

Hamster Galore
Hey again. Saturday has been a rather realxing day for me. Well, I had two tuitions today, but other than that, I stayed at home. Haha, it is nice to take a breather after a fast-paced week.
Anyway, I took advantage of the free time I had today to research on building a hamster circuit and the fruits of my labour are some juicy information regarding circuit-building. Ummm... some of the information are quite idiotic. I have also added some of my own pointers just so that I can remember them. Ok, here goes:
1. Put a thin blanket on the floor to make sure the hamster's feet are not cold. This is to make sure your hamster does not stop half-way through the race.
2. Place a hamster treat every inch of the length of the hamster race to keep the hamster going.
3. Just cut up pieces of cardboard to use as the walls of the hamster circuit. Use plenty of chicken wire to hold the walls up.
4. Make sure that the walls are strong and high enough so as the hamster doesnot push it down or climb over it.
5. Always remember to test-try the hamster circuit before the big day just in case anything unexpected crops up.
6. Use toilet rolls to form tunnels in the hamster circuit.
Yup, that is about it. With these infromation to help me out, I am sure that the construction of the circuit would be A-OK!!! The cardboard I bought from POPULAR is in black and white. It is a perfect colour for the walls of the hamster circuit, don't you agree?
Professional and cool...I like it.

Good news!!!
Being practically a stranger to blogging, I am pleased to say that I have found a lovely layout!!!
Ohhh, I have also gotten hold of the materials needed for Rossi's circuit. Cardboard, silk, chicken wire... you name it, I have it! YEAH!
Oh, I need to get several pictures of Rossi from Vitoria. I heard from her that she was just training the hamster with its training ball. It bet you are curious as to how this training ball helps to tone up the hamster.
It is a plastic ball the size of a football, with many breathing holes. The hamster is put inside it, and allowed to run around the house with it. Doesn't this sound like a really cool and effective way to train a hamster? Haha, I bet the hamster rather relishes being let out of its cage for a good run!
After meeting with other team-mates on Monday, Vanessa and I would start constructing the circuit. I think both of us would stay back after school to plan out the construction. This is so that we can divide the work between us efficiently and save a lot of time too!
YES!!!! GO FOT IT GUYS!!!

TSKKK...
Blogskins are driving me crazy!!! I have been looking for pretty blogskins featuring adorable hamsters, but there are NONE...... Ms Tan says she wants cute blogskins of hamsters, but I cannot find any. Many of the ones I found have been used by other classmates. Sigh...nevermind, I shall continue trying!!!!!!
Due to some 'technical difficulties', Vitoria was unable to pass me Rossi on Friday. I must say I was awfully disapointed. Haha! I had been looking forward to playing with Rossi since Wednesday. Oh well...I am glad that Vitoria is passing Rossi to me on Monday. Don't worry, I am not going to stuff it between my sandwich and chew it up, if that's what you all are thinking. I need Rossi's help to finish up the blueprints for the hamster race circuit. I need the 'waistline' of the hamster to finalise the width of the hamster circuit. Also, just to be sure nothing crops up on the day of the race, I am going to hold a few 'practice runs'.
HAHA, I AM SURE ROSSI WOULD DO JUST FINE! THere is no need to worry about that little hamster.
Just a little tidbit
Hey again. I was surfing the net just now and I saw this wonderful quote. Haha, I know this has nothing to do with the hamster race, but I feel I have to share it with others. This quote is magnificent in its own rights. Anyone who reads it would definitely agree with me.
"Riding is a partnership. The horse lends you his strength, speed and grace, which are greater than yours. For your part you give him your guidance, intelligence and understanding, which are greater than his. Together you can achieve a richness that alone neither can."
Animals, in many ways, are stronger and more skilled than us. For horses, they have pure elegance and strength which they lend their riders without complaint. For dogs, they have loyalty and undying faith for their masters. As their leader and master, it is our duty to us humans to light their way in the darkness; care and understand them with patience and respect.
This is the ideal partnership.
Don't you agree? The same goes for the different groups in our hamster race!!!!!! In this case, the hamster is the animal that needs the guidance, love, protection and concern from us, the different group members.
This quote gives me more energy and 'push' to put in more effort in the upcoming hamster race! Since Rossi is putting up with all the raining Vitoria is giving it, I SHOULD GIVE MY BEST SHOT TOO!!!
GO ROSSI!!!!!!
NOT FORGETTING ALL MY GROUP MEMBERS: GO GO GO!!!!!!

Updates on my progress
Hey guys! Today is Good Friday! I took the chance and went out with Vitoria and Ally. Actually, I met them at 12.40 p.m. in the afternoon for a school project. Being us, we decided to go for a movie half-way through. HAHA! WE watched MEET THE ROBINSONS! It was a veally fantastic movie. Then again, all DISNEY movies always have meanings behind them. This movie is particularly sweet and touching. Ms Tan would definitely love it because it is such a GOOD SHORT STORY. THe plot ends in a FULL CIRCLE!!! It might not seem obvious at the start, but the movie is packed with plenty of surprises!
Anyway, about Rossi's big race, I have got everything PLANNED OUT. Being one of the circuit makers (along with Vanessa), we both agreed to get the materials and fabric during the weekends and bring them to school tomorrow so that we can sit down and have a proper discussion. Vanessa and I have really done our HOMEWORK! We already measured the width of the classroom , from the classroom door to that of the class computer, THE LENGTH OF THE CIRCUIT. We used a ruler to measure the length of one tile. Then, we counted the number of tiles making up the width of the classroom and got the total length!!! BOTH OF US HAVE REALLY MADE GOOD PROGRESS!!!!!!
About Rossi, I am very confident that Vitoria is taking good care of it. I have seen a photo of it on Vitoria's handphone, it looks really trim and fit. One look at it and I was already thinking," I sure looks like a winner to me!" Vitoria also gives us updates about Rossi. Most recently, she said that the hamster has been running energetically in its training ball! My other group members are also right on schedule. Everyone is updating their blogs daily, which is totally awesome. We work pretty well in a group! Together, we will impact the racing scene!!!!!!
GO ROSSI!!!YOU CAN DO IT!!! MAKE US PROUD!!!!!!

The circuit for Rossi
Hello! This would be my very first post!
Ahhh, I feel so tired and drained from all the schoolwork and tests this week. I am really looking forward to the weekends. It is a good time to rejuvenate and energize.
Ok, back to the FORMULA ONE HAMSTER RACE!!! I am pleased to say that the construction of the circuit is in FULL FORCE.My associate is Vanessa Low, and together we have come up with a superb ground plan. I am sure that the hamster would be in tip-top condition for the race on Thursday.I trust VITORIA would do her very best to train the little creature. Vanessa and I are searching for the best materials to use for the circuit.
I shall just roughly state the objectives:
-Measure the length of the classroom necessary to determine the length of the circuit
-Determine the materials to use for the walls of the circuit= cardboard, vanguard, cloth...
-Determine the height of the walls of the circuit, just to make sure the hamster does not run off!!!
-Determine decortions for the circuit walls= pictures of Rossi, bright colours...
-Make sure the circuit is sturdy and wide enough for the hamster to run through and not wrong the wrong way.
I guess this would be it for now...Vitoria would pass me the hamster this Friday so that I can test out the circuit in the weekend!!!!!! I feel that I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!
